Tasmania Vintage Cuvée 2000

Tasmania Vintage Cuvée 2000

The 2000 vintage was considered very good across all Tasmanian regions. Budburst occurred late in September with good rainfalls until the end of December. January through to April was dry and hot, leading to a very early commencement of vintage (3 weeks earlier than average). Individual blocks were selected, hand harvested and fermented separately, to maximise quality and blending choices. All base wines underwent malolactic fermentation, and some wines received further stirring, to give distinctive creaminess and layers to the palate. Three years aging on yeast lees after secondary fermentation gives classical yeast complexities to the wine.
